Haha, my student ID and password finally works!!! I’m currently at the ICT Lab in the Tan Sri Loyang(?) library. Haha, we only have 7 weeks for our first semester, and now it’s only 5 more weeks left. Kinda piled up with assignments. Yeah, i used to think that 600-700 words was like a lot, but now, it’s WAY too little to write! i write like 1000 words-ish essays!
My class is the noisy-rouge-can’t keep still class! Haha, so i guess i kinda feel at home. But i think one of my lecturer’s gonna blow up soon…… Can’t blame her. The subs kinda boring, and though i really try to listen to her, i tend to get distracted.
Parents still trying to make me change to Architecture. Imagine, i’ll be joining the first intake in June/July and my friends will already be entering their second semester in Mass Comm. I mean, my dad’s kinda worried that i won’t secure a job when i’m hitting middle age if i do PR. I never thought about it that way. It’s true that male clients tend to get attracted by pretty young things, and he’s worried i won’t get respect. But somehow, i don’t think so. I mean, most ppl don’t work what they learn in college/uni. Take Peter Ong for example (Rexona’s No Sweat Dance Challenge judge/Jalan Impian actor) he’s a lawyer with a very gifted tongue. What’s he doing now? He’s an Opera singer/dancer. See? 2 totally different line of work. One’s monotonous and one’s up-beat! And who’s to say that architect’s don’t get respected? They have to EARN their respect and work their way through, just like anyone actually…. Oh btw, the guy who won the Nescafe’s Kick-start Challenge? He’s working in the marketing Comm line. Hah!
And who says Mass Comm’s easy? Those who do say that, prolly just slept in class and didn’t participate in any open floor discussions. Do you know what semantic is? Who decides what we see on TV today? Kinda a lot of memorising to do, so i would say my work’s cut out for me. I’m not that worried for the future yet. I’m worried about my due assignment at the moment!
